2023 Food Pantry Wrap Up
2023 Food Pantry Wrap Up
1 in 4 individuals or families live in food insecurity here in eastern North Carolina. Food insecurity is defined as NOT knowing where your next healthy , nutritious meal will come from. Thanks to the generous support of St. Paul’s, its parishioners, and the many volunteers that it takes to make our Food Pantry operate ( 50 volunteer hours each week, 2,500 volunteer hours per year), we have distributed close to 100,000 lbs of food to our neighbors and clients this year. That is roughly 110 individuals who are picking up for themselves and, or family members each week ( totals over 300 family members each week) or 5,200 individuals and their families each year with a distribution of fresh, frozen and shelf stable foods including fresh proteins, and produce.
Thanks again for the continued support of this ministry, and if you or someone you might know is interested in donating their time and or resources to this ministry, please have them contact Ron Kemp for information on how they can get involved with the Food Pantry.
Blessings!
